e-WIX

Login Page: https://login.e-wix.com
This page will provide any announcements/information relating to e-WIX.

Logging In

In order to login you must have valid username and password. The username and password are both case sensitive. So if your username is 'demo' and you enter in 'Demo' you will not be able to successfully login into e-WIX. After 5 login attempts you will be blocked from the e-WIX service. To reset your account please contact e-WIX technical support.

Different options are available based on what user you are logged in as. Available options include; multiple search, advanced search, editing, adding/attaching documents, and access log viewing. Some users may have advanced features available while other users may only have a basic search interface. The departments and groups available for searching/viewing are also determined by what user actively logged in.

Once you are logged in a session is created and will remain valid until one of the following events occur:
  • You logout using the logout button
  • Another person logs into e-WIX using the same username
  • Your session times out (automatically expires after 1 day).
After the session has expired or been destroyed you must re-login to continue using e-WIX.

Searching

Basic searching is available to all accounts. In order to search for a document select the appropriate department and group to be searched. It should be noted that the speed of a search will improved when more information (selection of Department/Group/Index) is provided. The first option in the Group field is "[All Groups]", by selecting this option all of the groups in the selected department will be searched. The options available in the "Search On" field depend on what selections are made for the department and group. The "Search On" field is used to select what index to search on. All of the indices can be searched by selecting the "[All Indices]" option. If "[All Groups]" is selected as the group then generic options of Index 1, Index 2... will be shown instead of specifically named indices (Invoice #, SSN).

The "Exact Match" checkbox determines whether search will exactly match the given "Search On" value or will return partial matches as well. If the "Exact Match" box is not checked then e-WIX makes use of fuzzy searching to match all partial matches. For example if "smith" is entered with fuzzy searching enabled then results will be returned that contain smith, such as "Smith, Smithers, Locksmith". The use of exact searching is faster then fuzzy searching and is encouraged if you know exactly what you are looking for.

The option to "Display up to x results per page" will control how may documents are listed per page before additional result pages are created. If fewer then the selected number of documents per page are returned then only one page is shown.

Multiple Search

Multiple search is an advanced search option and can be purchased as an additional feature to any user account. If the "[Multiple Search]" is visible (next to "Exact Match") it can be clicked to show a search box that allows multiple indices to be entered. To enter more then one index in the new search box that appears type the first index you want, then press "Enter" and type the next index. You can enter as many indices as you wish (but it will effect the search time). When you are done entering indices press the "Search" button at the bottom of the form.

Advanced Search

Advanced search allows for documents to be search for using multiple criteria. Searches can be made using one value for one index and another value for another index. For example an employee record could be search for by the persons last name and their social security number in the same search. The advanced search feature also allows for more flexible searching options such as finding a match that contains, begins with, ends with, is greater than, is less than, or does not match the term you are looking for. Advanced searching also makes use of boolean connectors (and/or) between search criteria.

Search Results

After a search is made, a search results page will be displayed showing all of the matching documents. The results can be sorted by clicking on the column header. For example the results can be sorted by group by clicking on the "Group" link on the top of the search results table (the "Group" link will only be shown if "[All Groups]" is selected in the search criteria). The results can be sorted in ascending and descending order. To reverse the order simply click on the column title again. For example to sort the results by the first index, click on the column title "Index 1" (or if a specific index name is displayed for this column). Then to reverse the order click on "Index 1" again. An arrow will appear next to the column title showing what column the results are sorted by and what order.

If the document you are looking for is not located on the first page of results you can use the page navigation links at the bottom of the page to move between pages.

To perform a new search press the "New Search" button on the top of the page. This will return you to the search page where you can select different departments/groups/indices to search.

Viewing Documents

To view one or more documents click on the checkbox on the far right "select" column on the line of the document you wish to view. Once all of the documents you wish to view are selected then click the "View" button located on the top or bottom of search results table. You can select all of the documents on the page by clicking on the "Select All" button on the bottom of the page. If you wish to clear all of the selections click on the "Clear All" button. Once the "View" button is pressed the viewer will be loaded to display the documents. If this is the first time you have selected to view documents using e-WIX you may be prompted to install the Viewer, please allow the installation of the program to continue. Once you are done viewing the selected documents(s) you can perform a new search or select other documents by pressing the "Back" button on your browser.

e-Mailing Documents

Documents may also be e-mailed. Instead of clicking the "View" button click the "e-Mail" button located at the bottom of search results table. The selected documents can be e-mailed as TIFFs or as PDF files by selecting the appropriate option in the e-mail form. The e-Mail option may be disabled for some accounts, so this option might not be available for your configuration. If the e-mail is not received check with your IT department that there are no special filters preventing the delivery of the document.

Logging Out

After you are finished using e-WIX, please logout of the system to prevent others from using your current login session to view documents without your knowledge. On each page in the e-WIX system (except the page displayed when viewing documents) a logout link appears in the top right of the page. To logout simply click this link and you will be logged out and returned to the login page.
